Harold and Kumar
Some sequels we just don't get, like a sequel to Harold and Kumar for example. For a comedy such as this to continue to draw, the film will have to go beyond er, what's the word, expectations. Fortunately for those who are hoping for gratuitous anything, there is some good news.
Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg Discuss Harold & Kumar 2
The good people at JewReview have caught up with writer and director Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg to discuss Harold and Kumar 2.
So with all the confusion and rumors about what the sequel is about, Hayden cleared it up. “Harold and Kumar 2 takes place immediately after the first movie, so they just went to White Castle and now Maria’s going to Amsterdam and that’s the end of the first movie. In the second one, they go to the airport and on their way, in the six or seven hours that it takes to get to Amsterdam, Kumar brings this device on the plane that allows him to get high in the bathroom while no one is watching and no one will smell the smoke. This device kind of looks like a bomb – or at least to some of the passengers on the plane who are uncomfortable about sitting next to an Indian guy to begin with. They see him with this device and somebody yells, ‘Terrorist,’ and the next thing you know, there’s air marshals all over them. They just assume they’ll just get out of it because they did nothing wrong; without any trial or anything, they end up in Guantanamo Bay. And from there, they escape and the rest of the movie is them trying to clear their names and prove that they’re good Americans.”
