City of Heroes
For those of us who have enjoyed City of Heroes the past few years as we fought (or became) villains while destroying cityscapes it is time to rejoice. With the comicbook selection beginning to thin for possible live action adaptations, Transformers producer Tom DeSanto has announced that City of Heroes has been thrown on the adaptation block.
Live Action City of Heroes Movie
DeSanto hopes to adapt the massively multiplayer online role-playing game, City of Heroes, into a live-action feature and possibly a TV show.
The game revolves around a group of superheroes who live in Paragon City and must team in order to fight an invasion of aliens known as the Rikti.
Like World of Warcraft, players customize their own characters online and play with others for a monthly fee.
DeSanto sparked to the project because it offered "one-stop shopping" for characters and plots. "You also haven't seen a big superheroes vs. aliens movie," he said. "I see this as the next big superhero franchise."
