Millennium Films has picked up Steve Miner (Lake Placid, Halloween H20) to direct Major Movie Star. To help kick him off with some onscreen eye-candy, Jessica Simpson has also been cast.

Major Movie Star centers on a pampered star who decides to enlist in the Marines to win approval from a producer and a studio who considers her unsuitable for an upcoming military-themed pic. Upon arriving at Camp Pendleton, she realizes she's made a mistake but decides to persist so she won't let her country down.
I am already catching a Legally Blonde: Off to the Marines vibe here.
The project has been in the making for half a decade since Warner Bros acquired April Blair's spec script. As a result, this film is expected to come packaged with a ton of producers including Simpson's father Joe.
Major Movie Star will enter production next month in Louisiana.
