Horror/Thriller remakes still have some pull in Hollywood and the Filipino thriller, Sigaw, is next to get an English take.
Jesse Bradford for The Echo
Sigaw becomes The Echo and Jesse Bradford becomes the film's star. The remake will be directed by Yam Laranas, the same director who co-wrote and directed the original.
With an updated screenplay from scribe Eric Bernt, The Echo centers on a young ex-con (Bradford) who moves into an old apartment building only to learn his neighbor is an abusive police officer who savagely beats his wife and daughter. When the ex-con tries to intervene, he becomes trapped in a curse.
Shooting is scheduled to begin mid-August in Toronto.
Bradford can next be seen in My Sassy Girl, where he stars opposite Elisha Cuthbert.
