The Simpsons Movie
I am not going to lie, I am not as excited for The
Simpsons Movie as I would be for another South Park movie or Family Guy feature; I just happen to like those two shows better. That being said, The Simpsons Movie does look pretty hilarious and will represent one of the few times I go to a theater to watch non-CG animation.
Movie Trailer: The Simpsons Movie
20th Century Fox has released the final trailer for The Simpsons Movie over at Yahoo! Movies. Even though the film is not in CG, one can definitely see some improvements in animation over the show. It is hard to say where the story is actually going, but we are repeatedly told that Springfield is in trouble and the most unlikely hero, Homer, is going to have to do something to either save the day or destroy the town.
Though the trailer doesn't necessarily come out and say it, The Simpsons Movie looks like it will take advantage of spoofing various popcorn films. Besides the Spider-Man reference, notice how the trailer itself follows the same formula as trailers for big-budget action movies? Slow start and a huge, quick-paced finale with the high-adrenaline music and everything.

The Simpsons Movie opens to theatres on July 27th.
