Yes, we know that Harry Potter has a fanbase that most likely rivals Transformers, but what about huge mother effin robots?!
Though I had predicted that Order of the Phoenix would easily become the #1 film here at CanMag, just like Goblet of Fire did, I was shocked to see that not only was Transformers #1, but it was (and still is) winning by a landslide. This, however, does not necessarily mean that the robots will be crushing little wizards at the box office. Since popularity is decided by our readers (or by how many times a film's page is opened), it could just mean that moviegoers are more interested in Transformers. But doesn't interest convert into ticket sales?
As of right now, I have to give props to Paramount for the constant updates that have kept the hype rolling for Transformers. Warner Bros. has been a little slower on the updates, so maybe they are saving the big guns for July.
