After reading tons of positive screening reports for Transformers, two of the first official reviews for the film have appeared online. Do they agree with the fans?
Transformers Reviews
Though both of the first official reviews for Transformers claim that the plot does go anorexic amongst all the action, it is agreed that Transformers is big, loud and almost everything we can want from a summer popcorn film. Check out some snippets below:

If the whoops and clapping during the premiere at Sydney's Entertainment Quarter is anything to go by, Transformers has hit its mark among young people, especially young males, and most especially among those who are fascinated by the Transformer concept - and of course among those who work in or aspire to working in (or just love watching) digital effects. (For those who don't know, the Transformer concept takes the shape of (usually) a car which can be transformed into a robotic figure.)
It's Mayhen Bayhem as Michael Bay destroys, wrecks, blows up and demolishes anything that stands or rolls in pursuit of a noisy and flashy action movie to satisfy the imaginations of a young audience. He also injects plenty of adolescent humour (as cheesy as the film's tone) to ensure that silliness damps down the sense of violence. The sound design rattles the cinema seats (or should, if your cinema gets it right) - which is another reason for under 30s to enjoy it. It does what it does well - if you like that sort of thing.
Variety
If it's true that there's an 8-year-old boy inside every man, "Transformers" is just the ticket to bring the kid out. Big, loud and full of testosterone-fueled car fantasies, Michael Bay's actioner hits a new peak for CGI work, showcasing spectacular chases and animated transformation sequences seamlessly blended into live-action surroundings. There's no longer any question whether special effects can be made more realistic: The issue is whether disposable actors can be trained to play better with bluescreens. Paramount/DreamWorks' summer tentpole is certain to do gangbusters biz, while the sequel-screaming ending and the usual spinoffs should send ancillary through the roof.
