Mena Suvari has joined the cast of The Garden of Eden, which is currently in production over in Spain.
Mena Suvari for The Garden of Eden
Suvari will join up with Jack Huston, Caterina Murino and Richard E. Grant for the John Irvin-directed adaptation of the Ernest Hemingway novel.
Sure, Hemingway may have died before finishing the novel, but it still got published anyway in 1986.
The Garden of Eden is set in the pre-Depression jazz age. A wartime pilot-turned-writer (Huston) and his new wife (Suvari) embark on an extended honeymoon in Europe; she becomes restless and tests her husband's devotion in unusual ways. One is to bring a sultry Italian girl (Murino) into their bedroom.
Unless Suvari pulls an American Beauty in this film as well, it sounds pretty stupid.
