Okay, it may not be secrets of Lost or Heroes, but fans of smaller shows like Eureka can get a lot more out of their talent. The actors of Sci Fi Channel's latest hit are happy to preview their upcoming second season, including Ed Quinn who plays Nathan Stark.

"It seemed a bit jarring right off the bat to just suddenly lose my job," he said. "And not just losing my job, but then lose my job to my estranged wife and losing all my secrets. And what's fascinating is that you would think that would allow Allison and Jack Carter to become closer and that she and I would become estranged. The opposite happens. She and I actually do. Allison and Stark become even closer. We rekindle the relationship. I rekindle my relationship with her son Kevin, who also becomes a very integral part of the show this season, integral part of the mythology of the show. And her new position puts a strain on Carter and Allison's relationship."

Now that he's not in charge of Global, Stark gets around with more of the townies. "He's taking a different position within the town, which is developing right now. It comes back to his relationship with Allison and helping her shepherd in her term at Global. The whole beginning of the show is the exchange, and it's done with a lot of dignity and a lot of pathos. And then also rekindling the relationship with Kevin is really fascinating because originally it looks like just an estranged stepfather is discovering this relationship again. But when Kevin's role begins to change within the show and his arc through the season, we all of a sudden start to look back at Stark and say, 'Hmm, what is his exact agenda?'"

But wait, there's more! "In the meantime Henry Deacon comes back to work at Global and that is actually one of the compelling storylines. The storyline that I'm most fascinated watching is that one because there's a beautiful and tragic, dark arc to Henry Deacon."

All this, and still the Artifact. "Like I said, all the characters have arcs. The Artifact has an arc. The Artifact literally has a huge shake-up and then takes on a completely different life within the season. There's only so long we can go down and stare through the little portal at it. Now this season it's actually very, very scary."

Eureka returns July 10th to the Sci Fi Channel.
