Saoirse Ronan
There is nothing worse than a difficult name. Though recent films -- The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford for example -- have been pushing my limits, I have recently found another difficulty with Saoirse Ronan. Are you kidding me!? I must meet your parents.
Even with the tough name, the young Irish actress has been cast for The Lovely Bones.
Saoirse Ronan for The Lovely Bones
Saoirse Ronan will star alongside Rachel Weisz and Ryan Gosling in Peter Jackson's adaptation of Alice Sebold's The Lovely Bones for DreamWorks.
Ronan will play Susie Salmon, the murdered girl who watches over her family -- and killer -- from heaven.
Jackson has been all over The Lovely Bones for some time, as he not only wrote the screenplay for the film with longtime collaborators Phillippa Boyens and Fran Walsh, but he will also take the project back to the homeland in New Zealand.
Paramount will handle distribution.
Though Saoirse's name is new to us, the young (13) actress has a few projects coming our way including Death Defying Acts, I Could Never Be Your Woman and The City of Ember.
