Though Warner Bros. doesn't even need to worry about what Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is making abroad considering the fast that the film is making hand over wand at the domestic box office, it is still nice to know that this latest Potter installment is making a killing France.
French Box Office Game for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Thanks to bad weather across the country, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was able to take in $5.9 million its opening day on only 950 screens; Warner's best launch ever in Gaul.
The stat is even more incredible given that the July 11 opening was on a working Wednesday with no midnight/pre-screening release.
Warner Bros. also avoided previews for the laffer sequel Les Bronzes 3: Friends Forever, which grossed nearly $81 million, making it last year's box office number one in France.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is out in theaters.
