The Hustler
Fox has taken the time to give Paul Newman's films The Hustler and The Verdict new special editions. Like most retrospective DVDs, these are full of in-depth, standard collections of interviews recollecting events from the filmmaking.
On DVD: The Hustler, The Verdict
Newman participates along with other cast members and historians, hustlers where appropriate but no lawyers oddly. These are truly complete portraits of landmark films with practical and analytical discussions. They've even got older documentaries for further alternate perspectives.
Some more innovative features include a trick shot commentary on The Hustler. Like the poker pros analyzing Rounders, this analyzes the shots Fast Eddie uses in his hustle. He also demonstrates how to do it on disc two.
Some Paul Newman specific features include an A&E Biography and trailers from Newman's other Fox movies. The Verdict also features director Sidney Lumet.
