Maybe my knowledge of The Green Hornet is slightly off, but I am having a hard time picturing Seth Rogen filling the shoes of Brit Reid, a millionaire publisher who moonlights as a masked crusader.
Why bring up the Knocked Up star? Well, it is being assumed that he is on the top of Columbia Pictures' list as both writer and star.
Seth Rogen Linked to The Green Hornet
The LATimes posted that Seth Rogen has signed on with The Green Hornet to possibly write or star for Columbia Pictures. So far, however, Columbia has yet to confirm any such contract.
Neal H. Moritz is developing the project with Rogen via the producer's Original Film company. Moritz has been chasing the rights for years having been a big fan of the '60s television series. He declined to comment on Rogen's involvement.
Rogen's deal was confirmed to the Los Angeles Times by a number of sources both inside and outside the studio, who are involved with the film. Sony is said to be eyeing a 2009 release. Sony president of production Matt Tolmach is expected to oversee for Columbia Pictures.
Rogen is just the newest player in a large and varied cast of characters who have tried to bring Green Hornet to the big screen.
As of right now, all the LATimes can say for sure is that Seth Rogen is 'linked' to the project.
We will next see Rogen in Columbia Pictures' Superbad.
