Ray Stevenson
The last Punisher was no bueno, that's a fact. Dolph Lundgren took a shot at the role back when I was eight (1989) and Thomas Jane figured he had what it takes for the 2004 version. Though neither can be considered one of the top comicbook adaptations, Lionsgate is still hoping that a Punisher 2 will finally perform up to standards.
But who to be the next Punisher?
Ray Stevenson for The Punisher
He proved himself as a rough and tough fighter in HBO's Rome as Titus Pullo -- who, might I add, was one of the show's only survivors -- and is looking to prove himself again as the Punisher in Punisher 2.
The good people at LatinoReview have confirmed with an trusted inside source that Ray Stevenson is game to don the massive amounts of leather and weaponry.
Guess what? We are about to do it again and this coming from OUR VERY TRUSTED SOURCE, the same that told us the Joker scoop and the Bond 22 director scoop told us this scoop just a few hours ago. So no need to get your phone OR blackberrys to confirm it.
The new Punisher is RAY STEVENSON! Yup the guy from HBO's ROME in which he plays the role of Titus Pullo.
Since the conclusion of Rome I have been craving for just about anything from both Ray Stevenson and Kevin McKidd; who played Lucius Vorenus in the series. Punisher 2 and The Last Legion (for McKidd) is a great start!
