DreamWorks has picked up Susan Sarandon for the upcoming Peter Jackson adaptation of the Alice Sebold tome, The Lovely Bones.

Sarandon will be joining Rachel Weisz, Ryan Gosling, Stanley Tucci and Saoirse Ronan, which begins filming this October in Pennsylvania and Jackson's old stompin' grounds, New Zealand.
Sarandon, who fell into a tendency of playing the role of mother in films, has been bumped up a generation in The Lovely Bones.
Story revolves around a young girl who watches over her family -- and killer -- from heaven. Sarandon will play the grandmother, who comes to live with the family after the girl's murder.
Stanely Tucci was the most recently addition to the film, as he will play the role of killer.
Sarandon has quite a few projects quickly coming our way including Mr. Woodcock, In the Valley of Elah and Enchanted.
