With summer halfway done it is time to start looking forward to the holiday comedies. One such comedy in the making is Four Christmases, with Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon in final negotiations to co-star.
Reese Witherspoon, Vince Vaughn for Four Christmases
Being setup at New Line Cinema, Four Christmases will feature Vaughn and Witherspoon as a couple who struggle to visit all four of their divorced parents' homes during the Christmas holidays.
Though not exactly a big-budget feature, Four Christmases has existed since 2004. The project was first under development at Sony Pictures, who were hoping to have the film in theaters by the end of 2004. It turns out that one holiday comedy was enough and Revolution was already releasing Christmas with the Kranks. Sony released the project to Sony the following fall with Adam Shankman attached to direct. The project is now director-less, however, as Shankman moved on to Hairspray.
Vaughn, who will always be best known for Swingers and Wedding Crashers, will next appear in Fred Claus.
Reese Witherspoon recently, who won a best actress Oscar for Walk the Line, will next appear in the New Line thriller Rendition.
