Just when we thought the updates have finally slowed a bit for the day, a new, extended preview for The Golden Compass just had to make its way online.

The new trailer, sorry, extended preview gives quite a bit away. Though The Golden Compass doesn't allow the reader to realize these details until deep into the book, the new preview explains that a daemon is an "animal manifestation of one's soul." It also points out that the story takes place in a different dimension. Well, thanks for blowing it!
After spilling those details, the extended preview goes on to show a whole bunch of new footage from the film. And, best yet, we finally get to see an entire collection of daemons!
That's right! Daemons, daemons everywhere!
The clip shows a ton as it introduces the story behind The Golden Compass and the beginning of the adventure.
After watching the preview I am sure you will be thinking the same thing I am -- that The Golden Compass looks absolutely incredible. It seems that New Line is one of the few studios that actually know how to kick off a big-budget franchise. Fox, take note.
