It seems like forever ago since we have last heard of any developments starring Ryan Reynolds. Sticking to the genre that made him, Reynolds has been picked up by Touchstone Pictures to star opposite Sandra Bullock in The Proposal.

A romantic comedy, The Proposal follows a demanding female boss (Bullock) who suddenly faces deportation to Canada. She makes a deal with her young male assistant (Reynolds) to agree to a sham engagement and marriage.
Mandeville's David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing and Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are exec producing via their shingle Kurtzman/Orci Prods.
The script was written by Peter Chiarelli.
We recently saw Reynolds in the good-but-not-great Smokin' Aces. I had expected similar films to this for Reynolds -- or maybe a Blade spin-off -- but it seems he is back to his old comfort zone.
Okay, okay, Reynolds isn't all comedy, as he just wrapped the indie drama Fireflies in the Garden.
