Last Hurrah for Chivalry
One more Hurrah for John Woo.
So John Woo dabbles in sword play too, huh? Last Hurrah for Chivalry stars no one you know but come on, look at the title! It’s Honor’s last chance! Who cares if you don’t know any one of the actors. Unlike Hard Boiled, LHFC has more of a story behind it, well one that you care about at least.
DVD Review: Last Hurrah for Chivalry
But again, as in most Woo films, you’re singing up for some ass kicking. The sword fighting and hand to hand combat are pretty damn impressive and you’ll find yourself thinking, ‘Man, no one whoops asses like the Asian film industry.’ Throw in the fact that this one has an interesting plot of revenge, honor and a few unsuspected twists and you got yourself a keeper.
The extras on this DVD are quite good as well. The commentaries as well as the ‘Legendary Weapons of China’ Featurette keep you engaged.
If you want an action masterpiece, pick this movie up. You won’t be sorry.
