I guess Wall•E is having a profound effect on Disney. I mean, how else can you explain their recent acquisition of Pet Robots?
Disney Has Pet Robots
Disney has purchased the feature rights to the graphic novel Pet Robots, which they have set up with Chris Bender and JC Spink under their Benderspink banner.
Written and created by Scott Christian Sava, Pet Robots is a high-tech comedy about futuristic robots that fall into the hands of the least likely people.
Sava is no newcomer to film, as he has helped provide the illustrations of Spider-Man, Alien vs. Predator and X-Men.
Sava's Blue Dream Studios handles the publication of Pet Robots.
Benderspink is currently involved with multiple studios including New Line, with Power & Glory, and DreamWorks, where they are working on both Exempt and The Guy Not Taken.
