It seems that Michael Dougherty is sticking to his guns when it comes to the number of villains for the sequel to Superman
Returns, Superman: Man of Steel. Back in January the writer mentioned that to have more action in the next installment, one would need more villains. Now, eight months later, he again confirms that there will be more than one. But how many?
Two Villains in Superman: Man of Steel
If I carry the four and round up, I come to the sum of one additional villain for Man of Steel. A forum poster at BlueTights ran into Dougherty and got this little bit of information:
I asked him if he was apart of the sequel because everything I have seen says Singer and Harris are writing the script and that he isn't mentioned. He confirmed that he is writing it with the two just like the last picture. I then expressed to him that I was hoping the delays of Superman: The Man of Steel weren't true. He said that they were on track and that the goal is still to have the movie out in the Summer of 2009. He seemed a little hesitant about it but did his best to try and reassure that it will get done by then. I asked if he could give any more info on the film. He responded, "There are TWO villains," and he smiled.
Since Dougherty is sticking to his promise of multiple villains -- though it is only one more -- hopefully Singer can hold up to his claim that he is going to get all Wrath of Khan with this next installment.
Who will the villains be? We know Lex is returning, so does he count as one?
