The Heartbreak Kid
With The Heartbreak Kid due out in a couple months, Paramount Pictures has begun to do some early test screenings of an 'unfinished' copy of the film.
The Heartbreak Kid Screening Report
Though I still have my fingers crossed that Superbad will become the funniest movie of 2007, I also have secondary hopes for Ben Stiller's The Heartbreak Kid. Judging by the trailer, the comedy is there and so are the hot romantic interests. What more do you need?
Apparently not much, as the first screening report to appear for the film over at AICN claims that the film had all the makings of a great comedy, though the story could use some closure.
What worked - The great soundtrack (a staple in Farrelly Brothers films), the quote “pussy dick” and some of the largest breasts you’ll ever see floating in a Jacuzzi. Stiller Junior is in typical Stiller mode, while Michelle Monaghan plays Miranda quite well. Jerry Stiller, who plays Ben’s father in the film, is naturally brilliant as usual. He also has all the best one-liners, including asking his son to join him in Vegas to pick up some girls and do some tag teaming with him. And also announcing that Eddie has only “crushed three pussies since breaking up with his ex-fiancée.” (Ben replies, “Dad, can you stop saying that”, Jerry: “Fine, snatch”). The characters of the resort’s worker Uncle Tito and Stiller’s best friend are also worth a mention, as are the hilariously over-the-top raw sex scenes. Though this is all nothing compared to the scene which got the most laughs...
Lila pulling down her pants to reveal a full-frontal bush that literally springs to life like a Venus Fly Trap with a pussy ring inside and begins to urinate on Eddie.... This is on the same level as the penis caught in the zipper from There’s Something About Mary.
Comedy to the likes of Something About Mary? How could we go wrong?

The Heartbreak Kid opens to theatres on October 5th.
