With only the actors related to the Susan/Mike storyline available from Desperate Housewives, we went to the guy in charge for our other curiosities. Marc Cherry is good at whetting our appetites without revealing any spoilers. First, for fans of Edie Brit, her dramatic exit at the end of last year might not be the last we see of her.
Marc Cherry Gives Hints for Desperate Housewives
"We have a very surprising scene with Edie at the beginning," said Cherry. "We're going to do something that I think the fans aren't expecting but I'm not going to tell you because it will ruin the surprise."
The Scavos' cancer scare will be their main arc, though even the technical details remain mysterious. "You're going to be seeing a bald headed Felicity Huffman. I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about that. I don't think she wants people knowing whether that hair is real or not."
The Hodges return from their absence, conveniently timed with Marcia Cross's real life pregnancy. "I was very lucky to get Marcia to come back for the last episode and of course now she's thrilled to be back on the show. I think motherhood was driving her a little crazy. She's glad to get out of the house every once in a while. Yeah, we start exploring her fake pregnancy and what she's up to. That's going to be the forefront of her storyline and it's just great to have Marcia and Kyle back. I missed them dreadfully."
Unfortunately for Gabrielle, her new marriage will not go so well. "There's going to be some shocking stuff going on in that marriage and Eva will be carrying on scandalous affair with Carlos."
And back to Mike and Susan, Cherry admits it was time to finally hook them up, but do not expect matrimony to calm Susan down. "Nothing can ever calm Susan down because like a marriage, you think that are you happy, how happy are you, are you happy enough? And something always comes along. I think that's true of life. Just when you think you've kind of hit a nice patch, something comes up to kind of ruffle your feathers and we find something in the first episode that's pretty funny for Susan."
