8 Simple Rules : The Complete First Season
8 Simple Rules is proof that John Ritter can entertain in any role, be it a single guy in Three's Company or a father of three here. Though going from a young player living with two females to overprotective father for some, Ritter handles it with ease.
DVD Review: 8 Simple Rules Season 1
8 Simple Rules is your standard family comedy that plays on the stereotypes of kids going through adolescence. Often a troubling time that will test parents, Ritter's Paul is at the forefront thanks to his wife's decision to return to work. Like all stay-at-home dads, Paul gets protective. To make matters worse, his oldest daughter is a stunner.
Since the show concentrates on Ritter's character, audiences will find the most laughs in the dialogue to take place between him and the kids. Ritter nails the role of father who must slowly accept that his kids are growing up.
I didn't find much when it came to bonus features; though one can never go wrong with a Blooper Reel.
8 Simple Rules: The Complete First Season is out on DVD today, August 7th.
