Carla Gugino a Watchmen
Gugino joins Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Malin Akerman in the movie, which is set in an alternate America that has passed a law banning costumed crimefighters; you might remember a similar enactment in The Incredibles.
When one is murdered, the remaining members set out to solve the mystery.
Gigino joins the cast as Sally Jupiter, a burlesque dancer-turned-costumed heroine and sex symbol the Silk Spectre who is part of the Minutemen, a group of heroes who preceded the Watchmen.
Since the story will stretch along a vast period of time -- thanks to some flashbacks -- Gugino will play Jupiter at different stages in life.
Gugino can next be seen in American Gangster.
Her most recent appearance was on this season of Entourage, where she played a five-episode arc as not only Vince's new agent, but a romantic interest. Ari Gold comes back into the picture and gets Vince to return to his agency, Miller Gold.
Watchmen opens to theaters on March 6, 2009.
