William Hurt
I don't know what it is about watching William Hurt taking a bullet to the brain in History of Violence, but it always puts a huge grin on my face.
Jesus Joey!
Anywho, Hurt is looking to become one busy man. Back in June he joined the cast of The Incredible Hulk, where he will play General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, and now he has been selected to join the court of The Countess.
William Hurt Joins The Countess
The MTV Movies Blog discovered that Hurt has joined the cast of The Countess while talking to July Delpy. Delpy, currently making the rounds promoting her feature directing debut “2 Days in Paris,” was excited to tell us that “William Hurt is now on board. And so is Daniel Bruhl (who appears in her current film), a fantastic German actor.”
So who does Hurt portray in this telling of Elizabeth Bathory, the famed “blood Countess” of the 16th century? Delpy told us he “is playing the most Machiavellian [character]. He’s not a murderer. He’s a very powerful man. There’s a lot of political intrigue.”
Already onboard for The Countess are Radha Mitchell and Vincent Gallo. If everything goes to plan this "romantic drama with a hint of thriller" will begin filming by the end of October.
