The Hobbit
Let The Hobbit debacle begin once
again. Taking note from the fans, New Line has come to its senses and are
again trying to work something out with Peter Jackson; even if it is only
for some creative involvement.
Peter Jackson Returning to Hobbiton
According to The
LA Times, reposted at ComingSoon,
Bob Shaye has openly admitted that Jackson's involvement on The
Hobbit is being requested.
Eager to move ahead with "The Hobbit,"
New Line has quietly been trying to mend fences with "Rings" filmmaker
Peter Jackson, who has sued the company over his share of profits from the
first "Rings" films. When asked if it was true that company insiders
had been in talks with Jackson's reps, Shaye replied, "Yes, that's
a fair statement. Notwithstanding our personal quarrels, I really respect
and admire Peter and would love for him to be creatively involved in some
way in 'The Hobbit.'"
Stuff.co.nz
also reports that the return of Jackson and Walsh would most likely lead
to the return of Ian McKellen as Gandolf.
Like before, expect a bunch more updates on The Hobbit
as they develop.
