Who can deny a trip to Vegas? Considering that I am a fan of the very-adult playground, I have always wondered why more films haven't had stories located at the sandy strip. Yes, we get a gambling movie so often or a brief visit to the strip in films to the likes of Girl Next Door, but there is so much more possible.
What Happens in Vegas... is not exactly taking advantage of all the possibilities to be had in sin city, but at least it has quite the cast.
Rob Corddry, Lake Bell for What Happens in Vegas...
20th Century Fox are working to add both Rob Corddry and Lake Bell to the cast of What Happens in Vegas... The duo will star opposite Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher.
Written by Dana Fox, What Happens in Vegas... is set in motion following a night of debauchery in Vegas when two strangers (Diaz, Kutcher) discover they have gotten married and one of them wins a huge jackpot with the other's quarter. In trying to determine the rightful beneficiary of the winnings, the duo embarks on a series of plots to undermine the other, falling in love along the way.
Corddry is set to play Hater, an attorney and the best friend of Kutcher's character who richly deserves his nickname. In fact, he's a world-class misanthrope with an acerbic edge. Bell will play the best friend of Diaz's character.
Tom Vaughan, who recently filmed an episode of HBO's John from Cincinnati, will direct.
Corddry, who started his career by making us laugh on Comedy Central's The Daily Show, can next be seen in The Ten and The Heartbreak Kid opposite Ben Stiller.
Bell, who has spent more time jumping around television, also has a few film roles in the can including Pride and Glory and How I Met My Boyfriend's Dead Fiancé.
