As recently proven by Rush Hour 3, the buddy action genre drama has still got some pull. Instead of an Asian and a black guy, however, Columbia Pictures plans to use a formula closer to the very successful Lethal Weapon franchise -- one white, one black.
Channing Tatum, Columbus Short Team for Action
Columbia Pictures has picked up Channing Tatum and Columbus Short to star in an untitled buddy action film to be produced by Neal Moritz.
David Elliot and Paul Lovett, the two responsible for Four Brothers, penned the screenplay, which is being kept under wraps.
Tatum, pictured right with his best rendition of 'Blue Steel,' turned heads with his breakout performance in Step Up. He has also appeared in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and Stop Loss.
Short also has some jazz-hand background with a role in Stomp the Yard. The actor has also appeared in the television series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and recently wrapped This Christmas.
