If we were to follow the rules liad down by Ari Gold (Entourage), one would think that Michael Cera isn't all that confident on this weekend's release of Superbad. Why? Well, according to Ari, why you have a big hit you don't pick up any new gigs until after the film's release. You only join new projects before a release if you are afriad you will continue to become unhireable.
A rule agents in the real world stick by? Uh, probably not, but you never know.
Michael Cera for Youth in Revolt
Though I have no doubt that Superbad is going to be the comedic hit of the summer, Michael Cera is already onboard for Dimension's teen comedy Youth in Revolt.
Gustin Nash script is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by C.D. Payne. Story revolves around the adventures of a teenager who meets the girl of his dreams while on a family vacation and turns his life upside down in order to be with her.
Self-published in 1993, the book centers on a cynical and sex-obsessed 14-year-old. The book was a hit, and Payne went on to write three sequels.
Cera, who exploded onto the scene with Arrested Development, has a few projects coming our way including Juno, The Year One with Jack Black and Superbad (this week).
Youth in Revolt was originally set up with Artisan.
