Though most will only know Seth Rogen as the curly-haired fat guy who wins the girl over in Knocked Up or the curly-haired fat guy who plays an irresponsible police officer in Superbad, the actor wants everybody to know that his involvement in The Green Hornet will take on a different genre.
Seth Rogen Talks The Green Hornet
Seth Rogen sat down with MTV Movie Blog to tell people that, no matter how goofy he has been in the past, he is serious about action. He had this to say on the script, which he is currently writing with Evan Goldberg.
“We’re really going to sit down and get into it,” he insisted. “We made ‘Pineapple Express’, which is an action-comedy, but the action is the thing that stood out to the people we’ve shown the movie to so far - and my favorite types of movies are action/adventure movies, so that’s what we’re trying to do. We really want to make it an awesome action movie.”
Just because Rogen is an action superfan, don't think for a second that is going to forget about the story and characters:
“We write movies based on relationships, and that’s what drew us to ‘The Green Hornet’,” he said. “It’s about these two guys who fight crime together…it’s the only really quote-unquote ’superhero-type movie’ that is about that…Batman would still be Batman without Robin, but Green Hornet would probably be useless without Kato.”
Rogen goes on to discuss the character Kato, and (jokingly) suggests that Superbad co-star Christopher “McLovin’” Mintz-Plasse is up for the part.
