Rosario Dawson is looking to keep extremely busy. She joined the cast of Eagle Eye this week and is now involved with the online project, Gemini.
Rosario Dawson Goes Digital with The Gemini Division
Dawson is partnering with Stan Rogow, Brent Friedman and Jeff Sagansky to produce and star in The Gemini Division, a live-action/motion-capture animation online sci-fi series.
Though the episodes will be short -- three minutes -- Rogow, Friedman and Sagansky plan to make one-hundred of them under their Electric Farm Entertainment banner. The series will star Dawson as a New York cop investigating the bizarre murder of her husband and who uncovers a global conspiracy involving the creation of simulated live forms that have assimilated with the unsuspecting public.
Dawson was approached by the trio for Gemini after she lent her voice to the trio's first Internet series, Afterworld.
Dawson has quite a bit of familiarity in the sci-fi genre, considering that she created the comic book Occult Crimes Taskforce and is developing a feature based on it with the Weinstein Co., to which she is attached to star and produce
"We were kindred spirits," Rogow said. "She is a really strong creative talent, and we are happy to have her as part of the team."
