Though the holiday comedy Four Christmases had a cast with Reese Witherspoon (pictured right) and Vince Vaughn, it was still looking a director. With the release of The King of Kong, director Seth Gordon has caught New Line's attention.
Seth Gordon to Direct Four Christmases
New Line has set up Four Christmases at Spyglass with Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum and Jonathan Glickman. The film will star Vaughn and Witherspoon as a couple who struggle to visit all four of their divorced parents' homes during the Christmas holidays.
Seth Gordon will direct off a script from writing team Matt Allen and Caleb Wilson.
Gordon became close to New Line with his involvement on the feature adaptation of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, his own documentary about rivals battling for the high score on Donkey Kong. Picturehouse reported that the film earned $51,494 from five theaters over the weekend.
New Line is hoping for a December production start for Four Christmases in order to get the film out by next year's holiday season. I would bet five bucks that they are hoping to avoid the upcoming strike as well.
