Speaking of franchises being played out, the latest collection of rumors to surface for Jurassic Park IV range from ridiculous to absurd. What was my favorite? Oh yes, having armed dinos running around packing weaponry as, you guessed it, they have been trained by the military. Slap it with a 'crap' seal of approval and get this film into production!
Fortunately, the rumors can't be true, as JP 4 isn't very far in pre-production. In short, it's still just an idea -- as in it might have dinosaurs idea.
Clarifications for Jurassic Park IV
The good people at SpielbergFilms have contacted those close to Spielberg and have discovered that you shouldn't listen to what you've been hearing.
the rumors turn out to be completely unfounded as per multiple, separate sources associated directly with the production.
Steven Spielberg’s personal reps at Amblin Entertainment (co-producers of the “Jurassic Park” franchise) have told SpielbergFilms.com that casting has not commenced on the film, as the story and screenplay are still in development. While there’s been talk over the years with series stars Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and most recently, Laura Dern, the property is still not ready to move forward toward production and no casting is taking place.
The project does exist and will, some day, actually enter production, there is just nothing to it yet. Sorry to those who were really hoping for armed dinos.
