Kevin Costner has finally found a studio worthy of his Swing Vote. Touchstone Pictures -- backed by Walt Disney Pictures -- will distribute the political comedy domestically while Kathy Morgan Intl. handles the overseas sales.
Touchstone Wins Swing Vote
Directed by Joshua Michael Stern, Swing Vote is an indie election comedy that revolves around a single, apathetic father thrust into the national spotlight when the presidential election comes down to his vote.
The film will mark the first project to come from Costner and producing partner Jim Wilson's new banner, Treehouse Films. The shingle will represent films being fully produced by Costner.
Dennis Hopper plays the Democratic candidate, Kelsey Grammer the Republican nominee.
Stanley Tucci, Nathan Lane, George Lopez, Judge Reinhold, Mare Winningham, Richard Petty, Willie Nelson and Madeline Carroll round out the cast.
If it were up to Hopper or Grammer, who would you vote for? I personally would vote for Kelsey Grammer, if only because he looks like the colder beer in the fridge.
Joshua Michael Stern is filming Swing Vote from a script by Jason Richman. The film began production in Albuquerque back in July.
