Focus Features has released a second trailer for Eastern Promises that is more suggestive of the film's crime element.

Since Eastern Promises is from the same guy who gave us A History of Violence, I had begun to wonder where all the violence was. Fortunately for me, the second trailer for the film rectifies any doubt I had about the film, as there is most definitely some pain delivered here. Can't wait to see Viggo Mortensen's skinny, tattooed body throw down in what looks to be gnarly slugfests.
Unlike the first trailer, this second version also better displays the internal conflict that Nikolai (Mortensen) is facing. He has loyalties to his 'family,' but he is also emotionally invested in somebody this same 'family' would like to place in a hurtlocker. Like most guys, it looks like he is more likely to choose the girl over the fam.
