Jackass: Number Two
When MTV first premiered Jackass I, and my roommates up in UCSB, thought the idea was genius. We were one of the supposed few who owned a copy of CKY2K and appreciated seeing the same characters back on screen, but this time television. Next the first film came out and I was unimpressed. Shit and piss gags can only get one so far, and the film quickly became one that I have never bothered seeing again. Jackass: Number Two, however, had me keeled over laughing in the theaters. Some of the pranks were shear genius, reminding me why I liked the show so much in the first place. Now I'm ready for a sequel.
Jackass: Number Two Gets a Sequel: Jackass 2.5
The good people at /Film have confirmed that the Jackass crew are currently working on Jackass 2.5, a straight-to-DVD installment that, by the sounds of it, will be made up of half new footage and half deleted scenes from the second installment.
“We do have 40 minutes of really good stuff that’s going to come out in some form and we’re going to shoot in November,” stated director Jeff Tremaine. “I know he’s not going to let us stop shooting, so something’s gonna happen. We’re not calling it Three, but you’ll see what we shoot somehow.”
That is correct, Johnny Knoxville and company had other, new ideas on how they can come close to death but instead walk away with a couple bruises and a ton of laughs. These guys are hoping to prove just how insane they are and, if they are lucky, will again avoid death in stupid attempts to entertain audiences.
One scene you might remember (from the trailer) is the shot of Don Vito having his tooth pulled by a car. Since it never made the cut for Jackass: Number Two expect to see the clip in Jackass 2.5.
