Will Smith
After striking gold with The Pursuit of Happyness, Will Smith will reunite with that film's creative team for Seven Pounds.
Will Smith for Seven Pounds
Smith will star in Seven Pounds, a film that will be directed by Gabriele Muccino; who, as you might have guessed, also directed Happyness. Muccino was originally set to direct Smith in Columbia Pictures' Hancock, but quickly dropped out due to creative differences. He was replaced by The Kingdom's Peter Berg.
Written by Grant Nieporte, Seven Pounds centers on a man who inadvertently falls in love while attempting to kill himself.
Smith will spend the entire holiday season promoting Warner Bros' adaptation of I Am Legend, which will open to theaters this December. Once finished with that, Smith will move on to Seven Pounds.
Seven Pounds is scheduled to shoot February for a late 2008 release.
So what does the title Seven Pounds have to do with the story? No idea, but my imagination is going crazy.
