With the success of Shakespeare in Love I am surprised that it has taken so long to create other fictional accounts of the writer. Ben Kingsley and his SBK Pictures are prepping to give a new installment into the life of Shakespeare by acquiring Christopher Rush's novel Will.

Ben Kingsley Acquires Will

Will provides a fictional account of William Shakespeare's deathbed meeting with his lawyer to discuss his last will.

Kingsley acquired the rights to the novel, which was only released last Thursday, in a six-figure deal between SBK and the publisher Beautiful Books. Kingsley will star as the Bard as well as produce.

"Christopher wrote the most amazing, literate and entertaining novel I've read in years, and I'm both honored and excited to be part of bringing 'Will' to life," Kingsley said.

Will is set to enter production next year in the UK.

Ben Kingsley recently wrapped The Wackness, where he shares an onscreen kiss with Mary-Kate Olsen.
