I like Jason Bateman, but it seems that you have to be a fan of Arrested Development to absolutely love, love, love Jason Bateman. Whatever, I like the guy in films and he is now hoping to compare his talents to the likes of Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.
Jason Bateman for State of Play
Universal Pictures and Working Title have picked up Jason Bateman to star alongside Brad Pitt and Edward Norton in State of Play, the Kevin Macdonald-directed adaptation of the British miniseries.
Dry comedy? Maybe.
State of Play revolves around a newspaper's investigation of the murder of a girlfriend of a fast-rising congressman, played by Norton. Pitt plays the former campaign manager of the politician's who spearheads the paper's investigation, and Bateman will play one of the key reporters chasing the story.
Bateman can next be seen in the Peter Berg-directed political-actioner, The Kingdom, where he gets his ass captured by some local terrorists in Saudi territory. To make up for that, Bateman will have a shot at Natalie Portman in Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium.
