Quite a few new casting rumors have been in orbit around Star Trek the past week and we figured it was time to get to some of the big ones.

Captain Kirk
Who to play Captain Kirk? Though the Enterprise crew is beginning to fill, we still don't have a captain. According to IESB, 28-year-old Mike Vogel is being considered to take on the part. If you have seen Poseidon, he is the dude who keeps begging his chick to say "I love you." (pictured right)
As expected, Paramount Pictures can't comment at this time. Mike Vogel is already close to the studio working on the untitled Abrams project, 1-18-08.
Montgomery "Scotty" Scott TrekMovie has discovered that Paul McGillion (Stargate: Atlantis) has at least tried out for the part.
"Obviously it would be a great honour to follow in James Doohan['s] footsteps."
Like Doohan, McGillion is Canadian who can do a proper Scottish accent.
Spock
Yes, we know that Zachary Quinto is Spock, but Adrien Brody tells MTV that he was close to taking the part. Woulda, coulda, shoulda, hey?
