Black Sheep
Some movies just know what they are and they don’t try to do anything else. Black Sheep just happens to be one of those movies. Mutant sheep attacking and eating humans? Sheep-human hybrid? Sweet. Don’t have the message be: stop global warming.
DVD Review: Black Sheep
The brilliant thing about this movie that one should note is that for a minute you think that some high school kid did the special effects. However, you keep watching and after the inordinate amount of guts and gore (I’m talking SERIOUS amounts of gore. Jonathon King, the director, has a sick SICK mind) you come to the conclusions that someone with some sort of degree pulled off the special effect. Sure enough, Weta Workshop (the same company that did Lord of the Rings and King King) are the ones behind it. Did I mention the film was from New Zealand?
At first glance you expect this movie to be somewhat of a scary movie and it turns out to be more of a “Holy God, that was disgusting!”-and-“That’s pretty damn funny” movie. So you can see, this movie succeeded at misleading me at every turn and I have to say, I was damn well happy about it.
The special features on the disc are also quite entertaining which is becoming more and more of a rarity. Bloopers win my heart every time.
