In what comes as the first film to be made from a Film Festival Horror Screenplay Competition winner, Slaughter has found its leading lady.
Dominique Swain for Slaughter
Maverick Films has picked up Dominique Swain to star in Slaughter, a film that Maverick Red and Angel Baby Entertainment will finance and co-produce.
Based off the winning script from Nathan Brookes and Bobby Lee Darby, Slaughter tells the story of a young actress (Swain) who travels to a remote desert location to shoot a film called "Slaughter." Shit hits the fan once she and her co-stars discover that the shoot was a trick and they have been cast for some sort of snuff film.
Victor Garcia, who recently helmed Return to House on Haunted Hill, will direct.
Principal photography will begin this month in Los Angeles.
Swain's credits include Stiletto and Lolita. She was last seen in Alpha Dog.
