Mandate Pictures has found their leads for Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist with the recently-popular Michael Cera and Kat Dennings.
Michael Cera to Star in Youth in Revolt
Based on the novel by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist revolves around two bridge-and-tunnel teenagers, nursing broken hearts, who fall in love during one sleepless night in New York while searching for their favorite band's unannounced show.
Peter Sollett will direct off a script by Lorene Scafaria. Chris and Paul Weitz, Kerry Kohansky and Andrew Miano are onboard to produce.
"When Kerry first brought us Lorene's script, I was drawn to the unique combination of humor and emotion in her story that fuels this duo's journey," Mandate prexy Nathan Kahane said.
Cera, who was last seen trying to get laid in Superbad, will next appear in Juno.
Dennings has a couple films coming our way including I Know What Boys Like and Charlie Bartlett. You might remember her from The 40 Year-Old Virgin.
