The Golden Compass
Now New Line's just showing off. Just when I had wondered what more the studio could show from The Golden Compass after a teaser and an eye-popping extended preview, we now have even more plus improvements.
Golden Compass Trailer
First, let's talk about some confirmations.
In the new trailer for The Golden Compass we get to see Christopher Lee's cameo, as revealed last week, plus hear Ian McKellen's voice as Iorek Byrnison. The one thing that doesn't add up is some of the sequences shown in the trailer. Earlier today Weitz announced that the last few chapters of Compass would actually appear in the second film. But then we watch this trailer and see some segments that sure do look similar to what is described in the book's final chapters. Did New Line include some of the last er, chapters in the trailer before the decision was made to cut them?
Hard to say. But, since the scenes do exist in the trailer, my bet is that they have yet to be cut.
The new trailer shows off quite a few new scenes from the film -- especially the armored bears -- plus improved daemons. The first trailer made the animal companions look a little too CG, something that has been improved upon over the past few months.

The Golden Compass opens to theaters on December 7th.
