Paramount is still picking them off one at a time when it comes to casting for Star Trek. A crewman here, a crewman there, and now the film's villain.
Eric Bana Villainous for Star Trek
Paramount Pictures has picked up Eric Bana to play the villain, Nero, in Star Trek.
Eric Bana will join Anton Yelchin, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Leonard Nimoy on the deck of the USS Enterprise or, at least he will be trying to destroy such a bridge. Casting is still under way in New York and London, and Abrams is expected to pursue bigger-name actors for the role of the Federation captain.
With production due to start this November, casting updates for the film should begin coming in bi-daily. No, that is not a day that swings both ways.
Bana is currently filming The Time Traveler's Wife for New Line and can next be seen alongside Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson in The Other Boleyn Girl.
Star Trek will warp into theaters Christmas Day, 2008.
