Will Smith for Empire
Columbia Pictures has acquired Empire, a project that comes packaged with John Logan, Michael Mann and Will Smith.
Mann and Smith have been getting close on Hancock, a Columbia Pictures project where Smith will play a disaffected superhero. Peter Berg, who also become close to Mann for The Kingdom, is directing.
Though Empire's plot is being withheld by the studio, sources claim that Smith will play a contemporary global media mogul.
Smith can next be seen in I Am Legend and is currently in pre-production on Seven Pounds.
