Nicolas Cage is on a bit of a spree here. Though it looks like he has more than a fair share of projects lined up for 2008, he has popped in only to vanish for one more.
Nicolas Cage for The Vanished
Cage has been picked up by Focus Features to star in The Vanished, a film that marks the studio helming debut of Hany Abu-Assad.
You might recognize the name, as Abu-Assad is the same director who helmed Paradise Now, an Oscar-nominated 2005 film about two Palestinian youths drafted to become suicide bombers. As you may have guessed, the film was a real feel good movie.
Rolling in the aisles!
The Vanished centers on a father who goes in search of his college-aged American-born Muslim son, who's missing overseas.
Before he can get in front of the camera for The Vanished, Cage must first star in Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler. The second the production wraps he will move right on to The Vanished. Thesp most recently wrapped a remake of Bangkok Dangerous and can next be seen in National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
