Captain America
Though it could be a long shot, 'Shannon' has alerted us to a bit of news on Captain America. Though the comicbooks have killed the hero, he should still have one heck of a life on film.
Captain America Director Found?
The good people at CHUD got this little tidbit of news:
My wife tells me that Gena Rowlands was on, and mentioned that her son was ORIGINALLY going to direct an IRON-MAN movie... he's now instead thinking of doing CAPTAIN AMERICA. Not quite sure who her son is... or whether she's accurate... but thought I'd send it your way anyway.
After sum deductive reasoning, CHUD came to the conclusion that the said son is in fact Nick Cassavetes.
Nick was originally attached to Iron Man for a long, long time before Jon Favreau took that over, and apparently he and the folks at Marvel got along pretty well. That means it isn't wildly surprising to hear that he's involved or in talks for Captain America.
For those of you unfamiliar with Nick Cassavetes as a director, he has attacked HMO with John Q, found love in The Notebook, and told a reallife murder story by commanding Alpha Dog.
With such an array of genres, I guess he is due a comicbook adaptation.
