Closing in on the release of Bee
Movie, I come to find that I still have no idea on what to expect from the animation. It doesn't look fantastic, and I don't feel that tingly feeling I got for Shrek 2. But then again, it doesn't look nearly as bad as Valiant did; so what gives?
Extended Bee Movie Clip
DreamWorks Animation must have predicted that a lot of moviegoers were in my same predicament. Not only have they gone absolutely nuts with TV spots and other cross-promotions to appear on the tube, but the animation studio has now released a clip that features a whopping six minutes from the film. So, how does it look?
Impressive, most impressive! Hot damn does this film (at least) look good! In what looks to be a scene created most in part to show off what can be done with CG-animation and bright colors nowadays, we get to see Barry B. Benson's first journey out of the hive. The camera work is so fluid that the only way I can describe it is by comparing it to the California Adventure ride "Soarin' Over California." You know that one?
Either way, this film definitely serves up a garden full of eye candy.
